How to Make Lavender-Type Felt Flowers
Introduction
In this tutorial, we will show you how to make beautiful spring lavender-type flowers from felt. This project is simple and unique, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced crafters. With just a few basic materials and a little time, you can create stunning decorations that add freshness and beauty to your home.
Materials Needed
To get started, you’ll need the following materials:
- Soft felt (purple, magenta, and green)
- Bamboo sticks
- Crepe paper (green)
- Decorative metal watering can
- Scissors
- Hot glue
Steps
1. Preparing the Felt
The first step is to cut a strip of purple felt about 4 centimeters wide and 30 centimeters long. Fold the strip in half vertically, then glue the edges together with hot glue.
2. Cutting the Felt Strip
After folding and gluing the strip, carefully cut through the unglued part without cutting all the way through. This will create fringes that will form the lavender flower petals.
3. Adding the Bamboo Stick Stem
Take the bamboo stick and snap off the sharp part on one end. Apply a bit of glue at the end of the stick and start rolling the cut felt piece, initially wrapping it a bit tightly for stability, then wrapping the felt at an angle to achieve the desired effect until you reach the end.
4. Decorating the Stem with Crepe Paper
Cut a small strip of crepe paper and glue it to the top of the stem. Carefully rotate the flower to wrap the paper tightly, then glue it down again.
5. Cutting and Gluing the Leaves
Cut two leaves from the green felt, folding the felt in half first so the leaves are symmetrical. Glue the leaves to the top part of the stem.
