The Colorful World of Painted and Printed Wooden Beads in a Palette of Patterns

The tempting offers of wooden beads with colorful prints resembling hand-painted motifs are a specially selected collection for you at our online store. Suitable for decoration, jewelry making, and more, they make your creations remarkable and unique.

But how are these printed wooden beads usually made and how can we use them? Well, here at EM ART, we’ve prepared all the information you need and ideas that will be extremely useful when using painted and stamped wooden beads!

Immerse Yourself in the World of Stamping

Stamps are quite straightforward art items: apply a little ink or paint, press it onto the substrate, and you have an image. But the way mixed media artists create and use stamps goes beyond the basics. Stamps can be used to create embossed images, designs can be altered using watercolor and acrylic paint, and patterns can be printed into clay, plastic, or gesso to create impressions and add texture.

Stamping is one of the most popular finishing processes in printing and advertising souvenir production, among others. And it’s no surprise. After all, stamping can give ordinary products an original, creative, and memorable look.

Experts unanimously state that this method of decoration is the most accessible and attractive for finishing products made of polymers, leather, wood, and other materials.

Blind stamping, for example, is one of the most popular finishing processes in printing and advertising and souvenirs. And it’s no surprise! After all, stamping can give ordinary products an original, creative, and memorable look.

Blind stamps, which are based on the principle of forming a relief image by pressing special materials (blinds) into the surface of the material, allow you to obtain a variety of drawings and images, including various inscriptions, monograms, initials, ornaments, emblems, logos, etc.

This type of stamping is performed without using printing inks, but in some cases, special films are used to give additional shine and expressiveness to the surface.

Embossing matrices are stamps made of metal (magnesium, copper, zinc, or brass) or polymer materials. Blind stamping, which forms only a depressed relief, is the complete opposite of hot stamping, which creates raised relief images.

There are two types of surface decoration: hot stamping and blind embossing. The choice of a particular method depends primarily on the physical properties of the material on which the relief is formed. The pressure of the press controls the depth of the image, which is determined by the complexity of the required relief and the presence of fine details.

The characteristic of stamping is that it only forms colorless images. But despite this, this type of relief allows you to turn an ordinary mass-produced product into a real work of printing art. Most often, the blind type of stamping is used in the production of pouches, presentation folders, diplomas, bundles of expensive or exclusive books, certificates.

To make products impressive and bright in the printing industry, foil stamping is widely used. The essence of this type of stamping is to form an image on any printing material (cardboard, leather, paper, plastic, etc.) using special printing foil. The pattern transfer is also carried out by pressing special equipment equipped with a press.

Embossed foil is the best alternative to various expensive paints containing precious metals. In any case, the image is no less stylish, grand, and impressive. As a rule, foil stamping is carried out hotly.

This method forms the most abrasion-resistant coating. Foil for hot stamping is essentially a multi-component metallized foil, on which a holographic image is applied in most cases. This type of stamping is often used to protect products from counterfeiting.

How to Decorate Your Blouse with Patterned Wooden Beads?

Solid colors are stylish and sophisticated, but adding playful hues can refresh any garment in a truly amazing way!

That’s why we’re sharing this fantastic idea to revitalize a plain, solid-colored blouse with colorful ornaments using painted and stamped beads, giving it new life with their marvelous printed patterns and motifs.

You will need the following materials:

  • A solid-colored T-shirt
  • Painted and stamped beads from EM ART
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Lining fabric
  • Chalk

Before you start designing the T-shirt, use chalk to mark the exact spot on the fabric where you want to apply your colorful design. To stabilize the fabric where you’ll be sewing the beads, place a lining underneath and secure it to the textile with an iron.

Arrange the painted and stamped or printed beads in your desired shape and pattern, then take a photo with your phone to have a visual reference for bead placement.

Begin sewing the beads. Although it’s a lengthy and meticulous process, the end result will be worth it, and we guarantee it will look fantastic.

As you sew, ensure each bead aligns with the initial design you photographed. Remember to manage the lining carefully; it should remain straight and smooth without any wrinkles or folds.

Once you’ve completed your colorful creation, all that’s left is to wear it with pleasure and pride and enjoy it.

Can Creating Jewelry Serve as a Meditative Practice?

Each of us finds our own way to relieve the tension of the day. Whether it’s through active or passive activities, people often turn to yoga, drawing, dancing, walking in the park, or cooking. One particularly enjoyable hobby is making handmade jewelry. We see this joy reflected each time we observe girls adorned with new pieces, their satisfaction unmistakable.

In surveys, they have shared that handmade creativity fosters patience, diversifies interests, entertains, and stimulates the imagination. Absorbing vast amounts of knowledge, everyone who engages with tools and beads is captivated by the potential for personal creativity.

Furthermore, the entire process — from designing, conceptualizing the design, choosing the right combination of colours, to selecting the desired technique — shifts thoughts away from daily stresses and towards creative expression.

The unique feeling of creating a product yourself reconnects us with our crafts and roots. Our ancestors were deeply connected to creativity, as seen in the symbolic embroideries, patterns on pottery, and architectural designs.

Have you ever wondered why making jewelry feels like meditation? Each bead weaving technique — whether it’s crochet, loom, kumihimo, macrame, or stringing—demands concentration. Following and counting specific steps and rows focuses the mind, similar to the way a song or dance syncs with your breathing rhythm. For instance, in the peyote stitch: "string one, skip one, pass through the next, and repeat… it becomes rhythmic…"

We often find ourselves quietly humming this rhythm when starting a new piece, even with a familiar technique. Such phrases, like mantras, are repeated in techniques like the Ndebele stitch, right-angle weave, flat spiral stitch, and others.

Did You Know...?

Painted and printed wooden beads have an amazing transformative power. Like real magic, a pile of these beads and a needle with a sturdy thread work in your favor, turning into an attractive piece of jewelry. Remember that you still control them. All of this, combined with gazing at the beads, is both relaxing and revitalizing.

If the passion for jewelry has already enchanted you, admit that after work, even on public transport, you start thinking about your project, and when you get home, you’re eager to get to your favorite creative spot...
